Mastering is a difficult skill to master and well worth the dollar

November 4, 2021 - Music Production

What most of these new producers don’t realise is that they are making at least one, if not all, of the top five mistakes made by beginner dance music producers. Mastering is a difficult skill to master and well worth the dollar it takes to have professionals handle things. It’s a shame when a beginner producer spends a ton of hours on a track only to bring a well-intentioned job in for mastering, only to have an audio engineer tell him it can’t be worked with.

The story continues

Unfortunately though many of the aspiring producers who attempt to release music and beat sales never actually realize their dreams, and instead just become yet another face in the crowd. If this sounds like you, maybe it’s time to reevaluate your methods and learn from those who have accomplished their goals. One such person who can help you with this is Damon Young, a popular music producer and beat maker who has been making music for 10 years. He’s created beats for Lil Wayne and even recorded a track with Jay Z that was never released.

With cookie cutters aka short cut, you can’t even tell them apart. Some use the same drum samples, others use the same synth presets and a lot of them even use the same exact song structure. If you want to be noticed by someone outside your community, have a style. Make your music sound different from everyone else’s, nobody wants to listen to another generic production.
